Why is the Glasgow climate conference so important?

The planet is warming at an accelerating rate due to fossil fuel emissions mainly caused by humans. This comes together with related extreme weather events, including heatwaves, floods and intensifying forest fires. The past decade has been the hottest on record, and governments agree that urgent collective action is needed.

Scientific data shows that current efforts are not enough and that more must be done and to act faster.

How is Kersia contributing to the fight against climate change?

Kersia’s corporate social responsibility strategy revolves around the program ACT FOR POSITIVE IMPACT, which puts forward 9 of the 17 sustainable development goals for 2030, adopted by the United Nations. One of these objectives corresponds to putting in place measures relating to the fight against climate change.

13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries

Cartography of climate risks: list all applicable risks and implement continuity plans

Cars: deploy Hybrid and electric cars

Carbon Footprint: reduction along the supply chain through optimization programme

Renewable Energy: increase the proportion of renewable energy used in our facilities

Kersia Canada supports the Canadian plan to fight climate change presented at the Glasgow Conference (COP26), which runs until November 12, 2021. 🌎

Concretely, Kersia Canada controls the carbon emissions of its company vehicles and encourages the transition to electric vehicles by installing charging stations in their offices. The worldwide charter governing this framework stipulates that cars must not exceed a CO2 emission greater than 160 g / km (WLTP standard in Europe). The purchase of vehicles with the latest-generation thermal engine or hybrid or, if possible, electric depending on mileage requirements is strongly recommended.
