Checkout is the last step of the customer buying process. It’s important to end on a positive note by welcoming customers to a clean environment. This procedure presents a simple and effective cleaning method.

*Using a “two-in-one” ready-to-use product lets you clean and sanitize a large part of the surfaces of the checkout environment. A sanitizing degreaser minimizes the number of maintenance products required, which is especially appreciated in a confined space like front-end checkouts.

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY

CLEANING THE FRONT-END CHECKOUT MAT

We recommend cleaning and sanitizing the surface of the checkout mat to avoid any risk of contamination that could be caused by night maintenance activities or other unforeseeable events.

Step 1: CLEAN the checkout mat

    1. Spray the sanitizing degreaser on the mat;
    2. Wipe with a paper towel.

Step 2: SANITIZE the checkout mat

    1. Spray the product on the mat again;
    2. Let it sit for 1 minute;
    3. Wipe with a paper towel.

DURING OPERATIONS

CLEANING THE FRONT-END CHECKOUT MAT

A sanitizing degreaser is applied in a single step to clean the checkout mat. We recommend that you always:

    1. Use a paper towel to remove most of the stubborn dirt and stains;
    2. Then spray the product on the mat;
    3. Wipe with a paper towel.

This “spray and wipe” method applies to all surfaces of the front-end checkout environment, except for the cash register screen and the touch keyboard.

In exceptional situations, such as a meat package that leaks a little blood on the checkout mat, two consecutive applications of the product are necessary. The first application cleans and the second sanitizes.

CLEANING THE CASH REGISTER SCREEN AND THE TOUCH KEYBOARD

    1. Spray the glass cleaner on a paper towel;
    2. Wipe the cash register screen and then the touch keyboard.

AT THE END OF OPERATIONS

SHOWCASING THE FRONT-END COUNTER

Now that the checkout environment is properly cleaned and sanitized, applying stainless steel polish will enhance the checkout’s look by shining the stainless steel and the black edge guards.

Simply spray the product on a paper towel and wipe the surface to make it shine.
